Description

Northport Church of Christ was the Tuscaloosa News Feature Church on May 29, 1970.

The Northport congregation of the Church of Christ had its beginning on November 18, 1951. Since that time the congregation has had a steady growth and pleasant fellowship.

During this time, the congregation has been instrumental in helping to establish other congregations, and has helped to carry on a full program of mission work in both this country and in many other countries of the world.

The church has a very active program of benevolence which is used for the benefit of all needy people without respect of race or religion. Approximately $500 to $600 per month is being given and spent by the members in this program, in addition to their support of two orphans in Childhaven Home in Cullman.

One of the outstanding yearly projects is the Vacation Bible School. Last year there were 494 people enrolled in their weeks' school. The goal this year is set at 500. The date this year is June 1 - 5.

Joe Williams has served the congregation as its minister since 1960. Homer Dunn Sr., Harvey Milligan, and O.L. White serve the congregation as its Elders.

The continued aim of the congregation is to be a useful tool in the hands of God as it manifests the principles of New Testament Christianity both in teaching and practice.

A cordial welcome awaits you in their services.
