Subject
Hospitals
Description
In 1963, the Druid City Hospital had a nine-person board of trustees, a body created by the Alabama Legislature and was designed to remain free of politics. The board was charged with setting the policies and planning for the future of the hospital.
Guiding this board in 1963 was Chairman H. A. Edwards who provided much of the vision that led to the hospital's great record of growth over the previous years. Members of the board, seated (left to right) are Joe M. Northcutt, Chris Kyle, Dr. Norman H. Reim, Stanley W. Celments, and Dr. H. Gordon King. Standing (left to right) are Frank Moody, secretary; H. H. Mize, vice chairman; and H. A. Edwards, chairman. Not shown is Abe Temerson.
