"The Taylorville United Methodist Church was founded in 1905. The present structure was completed in July, 1970. There are 137 members on the church roll. The church porvides a nursery, church school programs, Junior and Senior U.M.Y.F. activities and a Women's Society of Christian Service.
Reverend Bobby Ray Shaw began his ministry at Taylorville in June, 1968. He is married to the former Shirley Mims of Sylacauga and they have one daughter and four sons.
