Norris Memorial Southern Methodist Church was the Tuscaloosa News Feature Church on December 5, 1969.
"Norris Memorial Southern Methodist Church is located at Norris Circle in Cottondale. The church had its beginning with 13 members meeting at Memory Chapel Funeral Home. After a few months they moved to the old Nazarene Church building on 15th Street. In October this year they moved into the present building, which will be the education building when the sanctuary is built in the spring of 1970. The land for the church was given by Mrs. Elizabeth Norris.
The public is invited to the Dediciation Services on Sunday afternoon Dec. 7 at 8 pm. Rev. Glen Comfort, President of the Southern Methodist church will speak.
Regular church services are held at 9:00 A.M. and 5:00 P.M., Sunday School at 10:05, Epworth League at 6:15 P.M., Prayer meeting is held on Thursday evenings at 7:30.
Rev. Walker who is pastor is also the pastor of the Southern Methodist Church in Centerville."
