Five Points Baptist was the Tuscaloosa News Feature Church on March 12, 1971.
"Five Points Baptist Church was organized in 1950 with seven charter members. It now has a membership of over 700. The Rev. David Lewis is the only pastor who has served the church and he is now in this twentieth year of his ministry to this congregation.
Under the direction of Ronnie Lett, minister of music, Five Points now has a graded choir program with four choirs functioning. A graded Sunday School, active missionary organizations with a strong emphasis on evangelism form a vital part of the church program."
