Ola Grace Baker according to her July 31, 2005 Tuscaloosa News obituary was a long time member of First United Methodist Church. Ola Grace was a graduate of Birmingham Southern College and became a teacher following graduation. In 1942 Ola Grace joined the United States Marine Corps serving until the end of World War II.
Following her military service Ola Grace Baker moved to Tuscaloosa where she earned a Master's Degree from the University of Alabama. She stayed at UA working as Counselor, Advisor for Foreign Students, Acting Dean of Women and Assistant Dean of Women.
