Cottondale Church of the Nazarene was featured as the Tuscaloosa News Feature Church on August 14, 1970.
"The Cottondale Church of the Nazarene located on the Prude Mill Road was organized by the Rev. James W. Goins in 1938. The church had 17 charter members with services held in the old Odd fellows Hall.
The present church building was dedicated for the service of God in 1963 by the General Superintendent Dr. Hardy C. Power.
The church membership at present in 108."
