Description
Walter Hilliard (W.H.) Nicol moved to Tuscaloosa in 1907 from his home in Mobile. He served on the Tuscaloosa City Commission and as the city engineer. He was responsible for flouridating the water supply.
W. H. Nicol served as chairman of the building committee of Calvary Baptist Church when on December 5, 1925 both the new building which was practically completed and the original building were almost totally destroyed by fire. He continured to serve until the new building was completed one year later.
He was married to Johanna Harriet (Honor) Monnish, daughter of F. W. Monnish.
