Representing four generations of life in Tuscaloosa, the occupants in the car are Mrs. Ann Coleman Cochrane, Lucy Cochrane Maxwell, Jeannie Maxwell Richardson, Luther Henderson Maxwell, II and Lucy Maxwell Richardson, later Mrs. Bibb. The unique float was done in wisteria and purple streamers
In the background is the Tuscaloosa Female College, later Queen City Hotel, located on the east side of Queen City Avenue at the intersection of Sixth Street. The structure was originally built by John Drish as a residence.
