SSgt. William D. Mitchell was killed on December 18, 1944, while serving with the 513th Bomb Squadron, 376th Bomb Group in Italy. Sgt. Mitchell was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Victor Mitchell of Northport. For his service Sgt. Mitchell was awarded the Bronze Star. A photo of Sgt.
