Maj. Tobe Cope died on October 14, 1918, from wounds he received while fighting with the 371st Infantry Regiment, 91st Infantry Division. A native of Crossville, Tennessee, Maj. Cope was a military instructor at the University of Alabama prior to the War. Maj. Cope was the husband of Mrs. Lillian Julia Ashford Cope.
