Description
Captain Robert Lamar Williams was killed on September 16, 1942, when his plane went down somewhere over the South Pacific. Capt. Williams was a native of South Carolina, but came to Tuscaloosa for flight training. Capt. Williams was the husband of Helen Wilson Williams of Tuscaloosa. Capt. Williams was a 1940 graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point. For his service Capt. Williams was awarded the Silver Star and Purple Heart.
