Technician 4th grade Irving E. Hosmer was killed on July 8, 1944, while serving with the 26th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division, in France. Hosmer was a graduate of Holt High School and was the son of Mrs. T.B. Hosmer. For his service Technician Hosmer was awarded the Bronze Star and Purple Heart.
