One of the main goals of the University Church of Christ is to create an atmosphere where University of Alabama students can receive a Christian education on a state college campus.

Under his leadership the church and student center have acquired property and built facilities next to the campus valued at $800,000. Thousands of individuals and dozens of congregations have cooperated together in order to make this one of the most dynamic works for the Lord in the 20th Century.
Mr. Reed is a native of the state of Kansas. His wife is the former Betty Catherine White of Tuscaloosa, Alabama. They have three children: Donna, Ginger, and Kenneth."
