The Jerry Plott Water Treatment Plant, a state-of-the-art facility on the hill overlooking Lake Tuscaloosa’s dam, is named for the five-term city councilman who spearheaded Tuscaloosa’s water system expansion.
His father-in-law, former Tuscaloosa Mayor Snow Hinton, was instrumental in building Lake Tuscaloosa, which serves as Tuscaloosa’s raw water supply.
