The Tuscaloosa YMCA was first organized in the 1870's but didn't have a continuous existence although it was revived in 1886 and again in the 1890's.

We, the subscribers, actuated by a desire to promote Evangelical religion among the Young Men of this City, and its vicinity, and impressed with the importance of concentrated effort to aid in accomplishing that object, and desirous of forming an association in which we may together labor for the great end proposed, herby agree to adopt for our united government, the following Constitution:
