C.W. "Turkey" Johnston and W.J. Skelton admire Johnston's catch in front of Rex's Drug Store on The Strip in Tuscaloosa. The sign for Pug's restaurant can be seen down the street.

Johnston was described as "Tuscaloosa's most famous insurance man" when he retired from State Farm Insurance Company in 1985 after 43 years with the company.

Skelton was a hotel manager who was brought from Birmingham to rescue the failing Burchfield Hotel on Greensboro Avenue at River Hill.
