According to his Tuscaloosa News obituary DeVane King Jones was a native of Tuscaloosa who practiced law in the area from 1915 until his death in 1964. DeVane K. Jones was a member of the American, Alabama and Tuscaloosa Bar Associations and was president of the Alabama Bar Association from 1941-1942. He was also past president of both the Tuscaloosa Kiwanis Club and the Tuscaloosa Chamber of Commerce. In addition Devane K. Jones was past chairman of the Tennessee-Tombigbee Development Association.
