Description
Frederic Goossen was a composer, fine arts columnist and critic for The Tuscaloosa News and a University of Alabama professor of music from 1958 - 1996. For twenty-five years he was also director of graduate studies in music. Over his lifetime, he composed over 150 musical compositions. The American Academy of Arts and Letters awarded him its lifetime achievement award in 1991.
