Description
The Jemison-Van de Graaff Mansion was built by Robert Jemison, Jr. and completed in 1862. Jemison owned six plantations, totaling over 10,000 acres. Materials to build the house came from those plantations. Much of the work was done by slaves trained on Jemison's Cherokee Plantation.
