Description
In 1836, Baptists established the Alabama Female Atheneum which became a Methodist college called the Tuscaloosa Female College in 1854. This building housed the women's college for many years. Later, it was a site of a school for boys. The building was located on the east side of Queen City Avenue and its front door was the center of 6th Street.
