According to a telegram received by his parents Pvt. John Wesley Mills Jr. died of pneumonia on October 21, 1918 while serving with a Machine Gun Infantry of the 323rd Infantry. Pvt. Wesley was the son of John Wesley and Eudora Corr Mills of Gordo.
