Amasa Ben Windham, son of famed Alabama storyteller Kathryn Tucker Windham, was a longtime reporter and editor at The Tuscaloosa News.
After working as a DJ when a teenager in Selma, Windham attended Birmingham-Southern College where he wrote for the school newspaper. After graduation, he worked for the Decatur Daily before coming to The Tuscaloosa News for the remainder of his career.
Windham married Susan Raines Windham and had one son, David Windham.
Ben Windham died Feb. 18, 2018, leaving hundreds of his columns in the archives of The Tuscaloosa News.
