PSgt John A. Hamner was killed on February 13, 1967, while serving with Company A, 2nd Battalion, 27th Infantry, 25th Infantry Division. Prior to his service in Vietnam Sgt. Hamner was a ROTC Instructor at the University of Alabama. Sgt. Hamner was the husband of Mrs. Elsie Dyer Hamner and the son of Mrs. Lavada Hamner.
