According to Alabama, WWII Military Dead and Wounded, 1944-1946 Pvt. James F. Lane was killed when in a Japanese attack on June 3, 1942, while serving with the 151st Engineers in Dutch Harbor, Alaska. Pvt. Lane was the son of Mrs. Maudie Lane of Jasper.
