Description
Lt. Colonel Alston was killed August 8, 1944, while commanding an artillery battalion in France. Colonel Alston attended school in Tuscaloosa his entire life, graduating with a degree from the University of Alabama. Following graduation he moved to Anniston where he worked and met his wife Cornelia. Colonel Alston's mother was Mrs. George Alston Sr. of Tuscaloosa. For his service Colonel Alston was awarded the French Croix De Guerre, with Silver Gilt Star.
