1Lt. Maxwell J. Shipp was killed on June 25, 1953, when his plane crashed in Korea. At the time of his death Lt. Shipp was serving with the 67th Fighter Bomber Squadron, 18th Fighter Bomber Group. Lt. Shipp was a graduate of Tuscaloosa County High School and the University of Alabama. Lt. Shipp was a member of the sorority Alpha Kappa and of Northport Methodist Church. Lt. Shipp was the husband of Mrs. Sara Frances Bell and the son of Mr. and Mrs. E. J. Shipp of Northport.<br /><br />A photo of Lt.
