April 27, 2011 Tornado
Since 1955 Al DuPont had lived in a house on Cedar Crest. On April 27, 2011, his house was destroyed by a devastating tornado along with hundreds of other businesses and homes. Although he was lucky to not be in Tuscaloosa at the time the tornado struck, he was shocked at the damage the storm caused.
Many people told him that he should move away from Tuscaloosa, but DuPont decided that he wanted to rebuild his home and stay in the town he has grown to love.
