Description
The Snow and Prince Store on the Western corner of Greensboro Avenue and Broad Street, now University Boulevard.
The store was owned by E.N.C. Snow and A.F. Prince. It was established in 1889. The name changed to Prince and Son a few years later when Hugh Prince took the place of Snow as partner of his father.
Mr. Prince, the senior member of the firm was the buyer and went to New York every season to select the latest novelties and most fashionable goods for the benefit of his customers.
A.F. Prince represented the city in his ward as alderman. He and his son, Hugh Prince were "members of high social standing and exceptional business ability," according to The Tuscaloosa Times - Trade Edition, May 12, 1899.
