Description
Joe Duckworth served on the Druid City Hospital Board for over twenty five years. As a DCH developer, he was named one of the first two Fellows of the Druid City Hospital Foundation when the institute opened in 1923.
Duckworth was a notable Tuscaloosa Rotarian and awarded civic leader. He was inducted into the Tuscaloosa County Civic Hall of Fame posthumously in 2009.
In his early career Duckworth began working for the W.F. Fitts and Company insurance firm. Then in 1918 he joined forces with Charles Morris to create Duckworth-Morris Insurance Agency where he remained active until his passing in 1976.
