Description
Gordon D. Palmer became the fourth president of the First National Bank of Tuskaloosa in 1941 and was the first person to serve in that position who was not a Moody. The bank was founded by Judge Washington Moody in 1871. Palmer was named Citizen of the Year by the Tuscaloosa Civitan Club in 1946.
