Description
Dr. Robert Hunt Cochrane was one of the 50 doctors on staff when the new Druid City Hospital (DCH) opened in 1952. He was the first Chief of Obstetrics. According to his Tuscaloosa News obituary, Dr. Cochrane was a physician in Tuscaloosa from 1935-1962. Dr. Cochrane attended the University of Alabama before obtaining his M.D from Tulane University School of Medicine in 1929. Like many of his peers Dr. Cochrane served as a physician for the Army Air Corps during World War II.
Dr. Cochrane was married to Lillian Rose Cochrane with two children Robert H. Cochrane III and Mrs. Lillian Cochrane Wright.
