H. Vann Waldrop, a Tuscaloosa attorney, was a lifelong Tuscaloosa resident. He earned his bachelor's and law degrees from the University of Alabama.
Waldrop was on the Tuscaloosa Chamber of Commerce's Board of Directors. He was chairman of the Junior Bar of Alabama, composed of practicing attorneys in Alabama under 36 years of age. He was also chairman of the Tuscaloosa County Industrial Development Authority and president of Security Federal Savings and Loan Association of Tuscaloosa.
Waldrop and several members of his family were killed in 1995 when Waldrop's twin-engine Cessna 421 plane crashed near Cleveland, Okla. Waldrop was piloting the plane, bound for Aspen, Colo., for a ski trip.
