The Pontoon Bridge across the Black Warrior River between Tuscaloosa and Northport was used during the construction of the drawbridge in 1922.
Roads to the bridge used the old Tuscaloosa and Northport wharves. This picture is looking north at the old Moore's Gin warehouse in Northport. Traffic was on a scheduled hourly rotation for land and river traffic.
