Description
Residents of the Parlow Developmental Center who were able to work and who wanted to work were allowed to work on the farm, raising cattle or growing crops. The farm produced food for the Partlow residents at a time when very little state support was available. Also, working out in the fresh air was considered therapeutic; few medications were available at the time. Dairy herd produced an average of more than 80 gallons per day.
