Description
The University of Alabama homecoming parade proceeds down Greensboro Avenue on Nov. 24, 1951. The float has a big stew pot intended for the Florida Gators to be stewed by Red Drew Drive-In. Drew was coach of the Crimson Tide team.
Unfortunately, the Crimson Tide lost that game to Florida 30-21 with 17 unanswered points in the second half in Denny Stadium (later renamed Bryant-Denny Stadium) before 23,000 fans.
In the background are the McLester Hotel and Gray's Men's Shop.
