Description

The Kaul Lumber Company float was one of many industrial and merchandise floats in the Tuscaloosa Centennial Parade on May 30, 1916. Four big horses pulled a wagon with a portion of a trunk of a large pine tree as posts at the corners, supporting a framework covered by long-leaf yellow pine boughs. Several kinds of lumber and shingles manufactured in Tuscaloosa were inside a crude hut. The float was photographed in front of the Washington Hotel that formerly occupied the site of the present City Hall on University Boulevard at 22nd Avenue, according to information on the back of the photo.
