Description
This diner was located in the Greyhound Bus Station at 2031 Broad Street (now University Blvd.) in downtown Tuscaloosa. Working at the diner are Elsie Snipes, Audrey Beetle, manager, and Vera Mitchell. The diner provided food cooked on site, and served coffee and snacks. It was open around the clock. Annie Lou Spencer, who provided this information, worked at the diner in the summers of 1953 and 1954.
Breakfast items served included hot cakes for 25 cents. Hamburgers were 25 cents; cheeseburgers were 30 cents. A cup of coffee could be purchased for 10 cents and a slice of pie to go with it was 15 cents.
Perry's Pride products were sold at the diner.
