Description
Cpt. Hugh W. Owens was killed on September 14, 1942, when his plane went down over the Pacific. Cpt. Owens served in the 26th Bomber Squadron, 11th Heavy Bomber Group. Cpt. Owens was the son of Mr. and Mrs. James Owens of Eutaw. For his service Cpt. Owens was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross, Air Medal and Purple Heart.
