Tec. Sgt. James C. Kiker was killed on April 28, 1944, when his plane went down off the coast of New Ireland, Papau New Guinea. Sgt. Kiker was the son of Mrs. Josephine Kiker of Jasper. For his service Sgt. Kiker was awarded the Air Medal with 5 Oak Leaf Clusters and a Purple Heart. More information about Sgt.
