The "Tuscaloosan" was a Consolidated B-24 U.S. Army Air Force bomber which was the main type of bomber used in WWII. . The photo appeared in the Birmingham News-Age-Herald on Oct. 3, 1943, and the people, left to right, were Mrs. Gladstone Yewell, Judge H. L. Findley, Mrs. Gwendolyn Faucett, Mrs. Louis Weatherford, Mrs. Sam Wiesel, and Miss Helen Schultz.. At the time the airplane was dedicated, Herbert L. Findley was the chairman of the county War Savings Committee.
